First Friends Meeting, Phil Gulley, Carrie Newcomer
Quakers believe that all of life is sacramental, and every moment is a generous gift of the spirit, a philosophy reflected in the music and writings of Quakers Carrie Newcomer and Phil Gulley. This event combines the talents of Newcomer, singer and songwriter, with the storytelling gifts of Gulley, writer and pastor. These two nationally renowned Hoosiers will weave a joy-filled evening of song and story to renew awareness and appreciation of everyday life. Participants are invited to return on Sunday morning to worship with Carrie as she performs during Meeting for Worship at First Friends. Admission to the Saturday performance is $15; profits will benefit the Friends Educational Fund, which promotes educational opportunities for African American youth. Presented by First Friends Meeting and Fairfield Friends Meeting.
Tickets are available by mailing a check with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to First Friends Meeting, 3030 Kessler Blvd. East Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46220, or by coming to the meeting office between 9-12 Monday, 9-3 Tuesday through Thursday, or 11:15 until 11:45 Sunday after our meeting for worship. We expect a sell-out, so purchase your tickets early!
