The story of Abraham’s near-sacrifice of his son is a troubling tale. Discover how re-imaging the story through different religious traditions can enlarge the story, evoke fresh insights, and provoke interfaith dialogue. Hear the biblical text retold in English/Hebrew, the Quranic version in English/Arabic, and a fresh re-telling in the voice of Abraham’s wife, Sarah. This dynamic presentation will feature Dr. Marti Steussy, Hebrew Bible professor and storyteller; Dr. Mary Ann Fadae, lecturer on Islam; and Sandy Eisenberg Sasso, rabbi and storyteller. A panel discussion will follow featuring all three storytellers and CTS Bible faculty members Dr. Holly Hearon and Dr. Carolyn Higginbotham. Free. Presented by Christian Theological Seminary, Congregation Beth-El Zedeck, and Network of Biblical Storytellers. Questions? Call 317-931-4224 or e-mail LifeEd@cts.edu.
