Do you want to make a significant impact in your community? Make connections with over 70 cultural, educational, social service, health, environmental, and civic organizations, and discover the extraordinary range of board and volunteer leadership opportunities in central Indiana. Organizational representatives will be on hand from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to offer information about their mission, services, strategic goals, and volunteer opportunities. For more indepth information on nonprofit governance, attend a keynote presentation and workshop with William P. Ryan, co-author of the groundbreaking book Governance as Leadership: Reframing Nonprofit Boards. (The keynote presentation is open. The workshop is closed-all reservations have been filled.) Ryan’s 8:00 a.m. keynote will challenge listeners to reconsider the nature of nonprofit governance, and encourage participants to undertake significant changes that will benefit both board members and organizations. An interactive workshop for nonprofit staff and board teams will follow. Workshop participants will receive information and tools for strengthening organizational performance and board/staff relations through effective governance. Admission to the keynote and 4:00 p.m. event is free, but registration is required at http://www.lacyleadership.org/.
