Rev. Dr. Lyle McKee

Rev. Dr. Lyle McKee Rev. Dr. Lyle McKee completed his B.A. at Earlham College (Richmond, Indiana) in 1976, M.Div. at Yale Divinity School (New Haven, Connecticut) in 1981, D.Min. at Christian Theological Seminary (Indianapolis, Indiana) in 1999, and was ordained on August 8, 1982 by the Indiana-Kentucky Synod of the Lutheran Church in America (now ELCA). He has served four congregations in Indiana and Kentucky, and is currently pastor of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Indiana. He has helped to organize several not-for-profits dealing with community organizing, community development, youth ministry, and creation care. His work with the environment is motivated by a conviction that much of Christianity has turned away from the First Person of the Trinity, which has led to cavalier use of the resources of God’s good Earth. He helped to start Earth Care in Bloomington in 2007 and Hoosier Interfaith Power & Light (H-IPL, incorporated in 2011). He is the current chair of H-IPL.
