Juliet L. King

Juliet L. King Juliet L. King, MA, ATR-BC, LPC is the director of the Graduate Art Therapy program at Herron School of Art and Design. She earned her Master of Art in Art Therapy degree from Hahnemann University and has spent the last 15 years as a clinician, administrator and professor of art therapy education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Licensed as a Professional Counselor in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Ms. King recently has maintained a private practice serving adolescents and adults through art and verbal psychotherapy. She has been a faculty member in the Department of Creative Arts Therapies at Drexel University since 2007, where she has also served as a supervisor and thesis committee member for more than a decade. Ms. King has worked extensively with children diagnosed with behavioral and conduct disorders, and has direct experience with forensic and psychiatric inpatient populations. She has used her clinical knowledge in the development of a supplemental art therapy family support program in a neurofeedback treatment center. Through her work as clinical director for a large, urban non-profit community mental health center in Philadelphia, Professor King has developed art therapy internship programs and provided in-service trainings, lectures and presentations locally and nationally. Her current research focuses on the integration of art therapy and neuroscience.
