Event Description:

Due to a growing dissatisfaction with conventional medicine, Americans are increasingly exploring alternative health care. Learn the facts and myths surrounding holistic care as we examine basic concepts, acupuncture, vitamins, and more.

Join us for a panel lecture which will focus on four areas of holistic care including osteopathic manipulation, acupuncture, dietary supplements, and spirituality in health care. Panelists will include: Dr. Paul Evans, D.O. ,Vice President and Dean of Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine; Dr. Angela Wagner, D.O., practicioner of osteopathic manipulation and acupuncture at the Westview Healthplex; Sr. Norma Rocklage, O.S.F., Executive Director for Education Formation Outreach at Marian University; and Paula Ceh, Pharm D, P.A., Physician Assistant at Speedway Family Physicians. Speakers will engage the audience through the use of response devices to see what they already know and what they want to learn.

Following this, there will be four break-out sessions, led by each panelist. Finally, join us for an information fair run by Marian University nursing students to learn more about the holistic health modalities. These may include biofeedback, dance therapy, healing power of air and water, homeopathy in first aid, hypnosis, imagery, massage, reflexology, and yoga.
