Event Description:
Follow the path of food from the field to your fork. Panelists will discuss healthy food resources, and workshops will teach how to grow and prepare wholesome food for you and your family.
Choose breakout sessions to learn about growing, preparing, serving the food that helps our body become healthy. Understand how food systems can help communities and how the food produced in these food systems can help sustain community food resources. Participants will be able to hear from growers, culinary educators, agriculturists, restaurateurs, social justice, doctors and spiritual leaders. Workshops include making year round salads, faith-based food ministries, the perspective of the organic farmer, restaurants for customer wellness, and more.
Workshop presenters include Darren Chittick; Sonya Lord, Agricultural Science teacher at IPS; Amy Graham; Steve Graham; John Jones, director of Missions for Light at Light of the World Christian Church; and Carol Meriwether.
