Fast food seems cheaper and more convenient, yet what are the hidden costs to our children’s bodies and minds? Discover the connection between healthy foods and healthy bodies at our panel discussion and networking reception.
Come explore the connection between healthy foods and healthy bodies from moral, medical, environmental, political, cultural and spiritual perspectives. Panelists will include: Tyler Henderson, Slow Food Indy; Jodi Perras, Improving Kid’s Environment; Dr. Stephen Jay, IU School of Medicine; Falon French, Hoosier Environmental Council; and Rev. Dr. Carol Johnston, Christian Theological Seminary. After Q&A, learn about local organizations involved in children’s health, dietetics, slow food, and sustainable ecology. Related fields will share displays, policy information, and resources for healthier eating. Slow Food Indy will facilitate a sampling of healthy, affordable foods for families on a tight budget.
Presented by Christian Theological Seminary, Balanced Harvest Farms, Big City Farms, Felege Hiywot Center, Hoosier Environmental Council, Improving Kid’s Environment, Indiana Living Green, Indianapolis Green Congregations, Indy Winter Farmers Market, KI EcoCenter, Managed Health Services, and Slow Food Indy.
